June 18th 2009.
My sis, Tay graduated from Sowers Middle School on the day of our 4th Anniversary.
It was awesome... Front row. Chill music. This old 70's vibe.
We stayed out until 1 the next morning and it was so worth it. The next day was Friday, so we just had to get through the day...

Then, Adams cousin and family stayed with us. It's funny, cuz when people come and visit us here, we do all the stuff we normally don't do, like go to Blackie's and eat at Ruby's. It's the touristy stuff that we forget about but then get a kick out of....tourists offer such comic relief!!
June 20-24th:
The next morning, we left for Big Bear.
Unfortunately, the 10 minutes we stopped at the gas station, a car had hit another car head on and then flipped a few times before running into the side of the mountain.
So, here is a picture of us waiting for the wreckage to clear.
KaelinS habit of picking baby flowers off plants..
Here is a rundown:
1. Sleep in the middle of the day for the most pristine naps
2. Widdle sticks into marshmallow roasters for later on
3. Play in the dirt/sand and get as much gunk under your nails as possible
4. Get your face painted
(Kaelin went down 5 times and kept saying, "I like it Mommy", "Go Again, Go Again")
6. Taking walks and posing for pictures
7. Shooshing rock babies to sleep
8. Taking pictures that make you look like a homeless person
June 25-27th:
It was of course lady bug themed and I made sure most of the food was color coordinated to match that theme. Hence..lots of red...and a bit of black. Not much food is black..

Joan and Katie worked so hard on the decorations that day. I put them to work making papier mache ladybugs for lawn decor. They were adorable!
They could also be worn as hats...
Our 2 year old.
It was a ladybug slash gymnastics party.
Our little ham
My sis, Jen make this super cute cupcake/cake
At the end we released the real ladybugs into the courtyard

And I bagged some up for the kiddies to take home.

We played with the parachute amidst the flying ladybugs
Almost everyday Kaelin asks me if she can have another Ladybug party...
After coming home I noticed:
a. Kaelin loves camping and we love her for loving it as much as we do.
b. We are a camping family and I could probably do it for a week at a time.
c. We don't mind the dirt and itchy-ness camping seems to deliver.
So, Props to all you fellow campers. And for those of you who do camper camping, well...try the real thing sometime and get the full effect. They are nothing alike.
June 25-27th:
Adam's family stayed with us a few days after staying at the Disneyland Lodge resort..the exact name escapes me...
The day of Kaelin's party, Aunt Katie painted ladybugs on her nails. As you can see she was very complete with ladybug attire. I found that dress at the Anne Geddes store in Downtown Disney.
And I bagged some up for the kiddies to take home.
We played with the parachute amidst the flying ladybugs
Thanks for all the hard work our families put into making K's 2nd Birthday a success.
A special shout out to Joan and Katie for being my personal slaves for the day. They worked so hard on the decorations and food. I'm sure they were so glad when it was finally over...
