"When the Hills of Los Angeles are Burning.....

So, I realize I have not posted anything new in a L...O...N...G...Time. All I have to say is "Sorry." So to make up for this lagging of mine I will enchant you with a really really long blog post. I will therefore start with the old and end with the new. OK? OK! Let's get started!

As most of you know by now, California was pretty much overwhelmed with fire. I knew tons about the LA and San Diego fires, but nothing about our local fires here in the foothills. (Like 20 minutes away from where we live) It was only after the fires were over that I finally realized why. It was because #1, There were no more firemen left and #2, some punk dude started it. All I have to say is "What a Moron!"

Here are some foothills...burning...
.....Palm Trees Are Candles In The (Killer) Wind"

Ok, to shift gears now...

Adam went to a Jimmy Eat World concert with his friend, Blake. Somehow they finaggled their way in. This was their view, but Adam kept telling me how those guys were sitting the whole time until he decided to take a picture, then of course they stood up. It was at the House of Blues at Downtown Disney.

Then Adam and I went to Downtown Disnet the next nigh and had a date night, while my mom and Taylor watched the babe. We ate at Rainforest Cafe and were supposed to see a movie too, but it was so dang busy down there, we ended up just walking around the stores. Did you know there is an Anne Geddes store there? It is the only one in the world. It's a tiny place, but has got some amazing photos hanging and some cute outfits. The mini-babies are kinds weird though....

Then there was this guy carving pumpkins, his name was Joe, we ended up talking to him for like half an hour about why he is so good at doing these pumpkin carvings. We found out that he has been drawing animations for over 20 years just for Disney. Pretty sweet, huh?

Now, another topic:

My friend Stacie tagged me from her blog to post 8 things about myself.

So, here they are:

  1. I am totally into fixing things, wether it be a pair of pants that need a button, a squeeky door that needs tightening, a busted door knob, stained carpet, the stinkin' computer, or even making the dead flowers of mine-grow.
  2. I therefore love all those DIY networks on how to do and make all these handy things, I know I inherited this trait from my Dad.
  3. I will not spend more than $3 on a box of cereal. Usually I only spend $2.50, but I splurge sometimes on a $3 box of Lucky Charms.
  4. I hate when people cancel on me. It seems to only happen when fun stuff is planned. Right when Adam and I met, I told him to never cancel on me and if he did he had to have a back up plan. So far, so good!
  5. My favorite thrist quencher is Icy Cold water in a thermos, especially during a hot Saturday soccer game in South county.
  6. I dislike cake very much. I never eat it on my birthday and I didn't have any of it at my own wedding. Although, French's Bakery does serve a pretty good slice if I am ever in the mood for it.
  7. Before I was prego, I preferred sweet over salty, now I prefer salty over sweet. Bring on the Cheez-Its!
  8. I am very frugal and love using coupons. We usually never go out to eat without sifting through the coupon drawer first. Hey, buy 1 meal, get 1 free is a sweet deal! Whenever we eat at Acupulco,We usually buy two huge meals, and box 1 up and eat if for dinner the next night. Just an Idea.

Ok, now that that is over with...

The other day Stacie and I had a hayday taking pictures of Kaelin in her Halloween Costume. If you unable to pinpoint what she is. She is a "bunch of grapes"

Last weekend, we went to the swapmeet where Kaelin had her first encounter with bubbles.

Adam experienced a weird bicycle ride. He didn't like riding it because it steers with the back tires so it's alot of work and therefore not that fun.

Kaelin had her first bites. Wow, I can't tell you how much feeding her a couple ounces of rice cereal has made such a huge impact in her sleeping habits. We now sleep the same hours, 10:30 pm-7:30 am.

And of course she thinks guzzling water out of my water jug is the coolest thing. It's so funny to watch her do it. She sucks really hard and then you can hear her taking these enormous gulps and after every gulp she makes this funny face, as if she's saying, "Yuck, I don't like water," but the best part is, is that she keeps gulping and gulping until she emits a huge "BUUUUURRRPP!"

Well, I had to get a shot of her in her hoodie. It was sprinkling the other morning and we were running across the street to get some milk and eggs. Typical errand.

And seriously I could make this blog post soooo much longer, but I have been at this same post for like a week now, so I am just going to post it. This weeks activities will have to wait until next time. Sorry, I'm busy...I'm a working mommy now.

Santa Ana winds are coming!!!!

So here are just some cute shots with Kaelin and the flowers from her Baby Shower
Haha! The look on her face here is just classic.
Here's Daddy teaching Kae how to play the drums
Oh, isn't she just a doll? We went to the Tanaka Farms Pumpkin Patch thingy and I snapped this one real quick. When I lifted her off the hay barrel, she had hay all stuck to her diaper and her legs were all red. Poor thing...
Just bath time

Another day in Paradise

So I don't know if I have ever written about this yet, but if I have, oh well...you will just have to read about it again.....Adam and I LOVE living here!!! We live 2 minutes from the beach, 2 minutes from the freeway, 30 seconds from shopping, and about 10 minutes from the airport. The mountains, friends and family are just a short drive away. We feel so lucky to live in such a dreamy place (for us anyways). We have so much fun doing what we do everyday.

A day in the life of the Elders:

6:30 am- Kae wakes up and she eats, then goes back to sleep until about 8:30
8:30 am- Dad leaves for work (a whopping 2 lights down the street)
10-ish am- Kae naps and mom naps too if shes tired or does some housework
12-ish- Kae eats lunch, then we run errands together, like ACE Hardware (I love the eclectic-ness of that place)
2:00- Dad comes home for lunch (con you believe he has an hour and a half lunch??)
Now sometimes I have to work, so this is when I leave, then my sister Jen comes over and watches Kae and Adam and Jen eat a wholesome lunch together....haha, ya right, more like nachos and quesadillas....
5:00-Mom gets home and watches her DVR'd shows (like Barefoot Contessa, Take Home Chef, and Regis and Kelly)
5:30-Dad gets home
7:30 or later-Mom and Dad make dinner, eat and watch DVD's of Heroes season 1 or Office season 2, while Kae swings in her little swing
10:00-Kae goes nigh-nigh
11:00-Mom goes nigh-nigh
12:30-ish-Dad goes nigh-nigh
Now for the pics....

We made a last minute decision to head to AZ over the weekend. Adam had Monday off, so we though, Shoot, Why not? Analee, Charlie, and Nate were nice enough to let us crash at their place. Here is a pic of Kae on Nate. After I took this shot, Nate started balling. Poor guy....

The reason we went to AZ was to celebrate the marriage of Adam's brother, Aaron and his new wife, Laura...Such cute newlyweds! Congratulations guys!

Then I had to steal the bow from Laura and get a picture with Kaelin and the bow

Of course we had to visit Great Grandma Goodman, and Kaelin met her little twin cousin there. Oh my gosh, I can't believe I forgot her name, but she is Brian and Hillary little girl.

Here is Adam's dad and Miss Kae just after a shower all squeaky clean. Look she's even sucking it in for the picture. Haha!

We had a bridal shower luncheon at, where else, but Tia Rosa's. Yummm!

Here's our little girl just loungin' around. She always seems to take the best seat in the house.

And out last morning there I caught daddy and baby playing...Ahhhh...

The whole time we were there she was just so peachy, but the moment we had to put her in her carseat, she just wouldn't stop fussing. Oh man, it was so annoying...It's weird because she never fusses when we get in the car. She usually just coos and falls asleep. Not this time. So I was playing with her in the back seat and she just kept touching my ring so I just gave it to her and it immediately made her stop fussing. Look out boys, she is definitely into diamonds. Oh, then we stopped at Cabazon and walked around, bought some Christmas presents and then lost her pacifier, so we had to find a Target. Luckily we found one right away, good thing too, cuz my finger was getting really pruney.
Then, just yesterday I made a batch of those "throw em in the oven" cookies. Gosh, I buy at least 1 pack of dough every time I go grocery shopping. Anyways, I was eating one while holding Kaelin, and she shoved my hand into her mouth and just started drooling all over my cookie. I know she shouldn't be eating them yet, but I have to get a picture of her doing it...

And of course, just this morning I was in the mood to pick up the camera and just catch her in the moment.

Other than that, life is good! Last night Jen, Kae, and I went shopping at the Mission Mall and picked out some Christmas presents. Today we have a bapstim to attend and I think we will run to Target. Tomorrow is church and of course, dinner and laundry at the folk's place. We are going to have pork tenderloin and "Shrimp on the Baaa-bie"

I'm Sorry it's been so L...O...N...G...

So, just to let you all know well in adavance, this posting is a long one!
This pic was taken like 2 weeks ago after a large meal...haha...looks just like what Dada looks like after he eats a big meal.
And this is where we place her when we make dinner. She still doesn't like her Bumbo chair very much, but she sure does LOVE her Mr. Lobster
I love how in the background you can see her toes moving around. Those little piggys never stop
Ok, so last Sunday My mom, sister, Kae, and I all went to the Re-Grand opening of the Segerstrom Performance Thingy and I turned around and there was this guy making horse noises with his mouth and when I turned around I was expecting to see some horses, but instead this is what I saw...Woah, crazy, huh?
And of course they were doing facepainting and for FREE! Thats even weirder. So Kae sat long enough to get a little blue flower while Aunt Tay got a beautiful butterfly.
Muaaa, Kisses!

Oh, then on Tuesday night we met up with Adam's cousin Carissa and her family at Downtown Disney. We ate at Tortilla Joes. (I think that's the name of it) Anyways, the food was De-Lish and we even finished off the kids desserts, well Carissa and I did. Isn't it weird how you can be so full but still have enough room for dessert??? Well, the ladies understand anyways....

And these pics were taken just today. I bought this super cute reversible hat for Kaelin the other day when we had a girls day out. Kae and I went down to the Shops at Mission Mall and I found this on clearance at Janie and Jack. I think it was originally priced for like $25 or something, but I got it for $7. Nice, huh?

Kaelin is just about 13 pounds and 24 inches long. She is doing so good with sleeping and naps, she just started sleeping 7-8 hours through the night and then I feed her and she sleeps for another 2 hours. So we wake up at about 8:30 in the morning. Seriously, it's so nice!
This shot it great! It portrays just how big her 50 pound cheekers are. She was babbling up a storm and I caught her in the act
Just so you know, she is starting at the palm trees in our courtyard. She could seriously stare at them all day and be perfectly content.
Uh-oh, she's already biting her lips...must have picked up that bad habit from Mommy...

Are you praying?
I think here she was like screaming, but a happy scream, if you can imagine that
And just a few hours ago I laid her on our bed. She is happy as a clam.
Don't you just want to kiss that little face?
So cute, I cannot wait until she grows real hair so I can put it all up and do crazy stuff with it
And both of our favorites...shopping at Ralphs....
Tonight I have a soccer game, so far we have been slaughtered twice, and won once. Hopefully we are over our losing streak. Losing is such a bummer :(
