Balboa Island Getaway

We wanted to get out of the house, but not go too far so we went to Balboa Island just to get some fresh ocean air. The tide was low, the wind was obsolete (sp?), but the crowds were definitely there. Luckily we found parking spot immediately or else Adam would have just drove right back home.
I thought the rain was gone, but from the looks of it, it's back!
Cheese
I had to take a picture of these B.E.A.U.TI.FULL Poppys. I think they are so cool for some reason.
Some random house with some paint on the fence.
Two Happy Parents, One concerned little girl.
We're too sexy for the sidewalk, too sexy for the sidewalk...

I don't think Kaelin is trying hard enough to smile.
C'mon Dad, throw me up like Mom does!

A Day at the Baby Zoo

Peek-A-Boo. I see YOU!

We were planning on going to the LA Zoo, but then it randomly started pouring. It was weird because I didn't even see it in the forecast. Surprising? Not really. The weather people are more often wrong than not.

And sorry that I have been lagging on updating my blog. I started working my little part-timer again, coaching gymnastics at the Newport Coast Community Center for kids ages 9 months-12 years. It's really nice to get out of the house and make some sort of money, even if it is a couple measley bucks.

So anyways, like I said, it was raining although we still made to A zoo. The little baby zoo at the Irvine Regional Park. Hey for 2 bucks and a 15 minute drive up the 55, it's a nice little trip.

Here is Kaelin. In her peacoat.
We, of course had to ride on the train. Adam had managed to put Kaelin to sleep on his chest while we were waiting for the train to depart, but right as the train finally did depart, the conductor pulled the loud train thingy, and she was up, then back asleep, then up when he pulled it again, then asleep, then up, then asleep. She ended up getting a 15 minute cat-nap in and was good to go. Nice job daddy-O. She definitely gets the power cat-nap gene from me.

Here is the gang behind us. My mom, Aunt Greta, Ethan, Tay, and Emma.
Here she is asleep 30 seconds before the conductor did his horn tooting thing.
OOOOOoooo, look. A rainbow.
And a little tunnel.
BAAaaa!
Adam didn't even have food in hid hand. He just kept going around teasing the poor animals so they would come close enough for me to get a picture of them together.
But our cousin, Emma, wasn't afraid of those long, pink tongues...
Taylor sure was, though. I wish you could see her face. You would be laughing histerically like the people who were around her. They got a kick out of it.
Roar!!!!

Other than that, let's see... Adam's branch got robbed at gunpoint on the day he was off. No, I'm not kidding. Watch the news. I am so sorry for Adam's co-workers. They are like family to us. And to hear the stories, oh my gosh... It was hard to imagine something like that happening to people we care so much about. I don't know how I would have reacted. You bank employees are so brave. You seriously deserve a FAT raise!

I amost got hit by a red light runner on my way home from work over off San Miguel and McArthur. Stupid guy!!! UGH!!! I am so glad I didn't have Kaelin in the car.

But on a lighter note, I just finished reading "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer. And I am thirsty for more...catch my drift?? I read the book at lightening speed. Well for me anyways. I took the book everywhere. Whenever Adam would drive, the book was in the diaper bag waiting for me to crack it open. Adam, my mom and my sisters cannot believe I read books. It's weird for me, but I am addicted. I seriously have not read since SSR (Silent Sustained Reading) of my Freshman year in High School.

Kaelin is great! Now crawling, eating sweet potato puffs and everything in sight. I will be taking her with my to gymnastics next week to play with the other little ones. She LOVES to be around kids!

Ok, enough is enough. Peace out my hommies!

Beep! Beep!

Kaelin is now finally big enough to sit in the oh so famous plastic car. I think everyone at one point has had one or at least driven or rode on top of one of these, am I right?

Her new thing is to scrunch up her nose when she smiles real big. See....
Well, it's not 10 & 2, but maybe 1 & 4??
On Wednesday we went to Dee-Nee-Lann with Stacie and Coops. Here we are on the Dumbo ride.
Hey Neighbors!

(Sorry about the blurry pic. It was taken with my cell. They just don't focus like real cameras.)

Just another day.

Absolutely nothing is going on! All that's new is that I start working next week(gymnastics instructor). Other than that, nothing new to report...

Hmmmmm.....

48 hours after getting home from Utah, we packed all our stuff up again and headed up to Pismo Beach (Central Coast) to celebrate the New Year. It's a family tradition... We just sit back, relax, drive up the coast, and enjoy some amazing food.
Here is our view from our room.

Beautiful Sunsets every night.

We went hiking up the coast line and boy was it cold!!

Brrrr.....

When we made it to the beach, it was covered in seaweed and the sand was actually really course, ground up rocks. It was nice because it didn't stick to you, but not nice because it was, well, really course.
Talk about good food. We ate at a restaurant called Novo on San Luis Obispo's main street. We ordered Salmon Bisque, a Sirlion Burger, Fondue, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and Veggie Wraps. And the best part was their bread with Oil and Vinaigrette (sp?) I know it sounds weird, but it tasted so good. I asked if they sold the dips, and they said "No"....Dang It!

You cannot call a vacation complete unless you go swimming. Here we are in the Hot Tub.
People probably thought we were so strange when we were taking this picture.
My mom and dad taking in the sights.
A tiny cave...
