A forgotten pic...

I'm kinda pround to say that is me. I haven't wakeboarded in at least 5 + years.
I have to to say I like it way more than surfing, mostly because I can actually ride for more than 3 seconds, I don't have to call the wave "mine" before I attempt to get up, oh, and also because there is so much open space and freedom to do whatev-
Don't get me wrong, I still love to surf. I just get scared of the leg eating sharks, jelly fish, below 60 degree water, anything overhead, and mostly the other surfers...

California knows how to Party...

These pics are not in order. I do not have the patience to be meticulous this morning. I just bought a cute twin bed off Craigslist last night and am so anxious to put it together.
Kaelin's cousin, Jack. (Well, his tummy)
Kaelin. Maybe she was tooting...
Laura getting some R&R

Boys being Boys

Oh yum! A $3 shaved ice. The only thing that could have made it better would be some ice cream under that ice, like Matsumoto does it in Oahu.

Oh the chaos!

I was this close to Kelly! People were going nuts!

I prefer the Rob Mochado look. I wonder what they were talking about here??

Hey Party People!

We also stopped by "The Wedge"
It took us an hour to get there. Another hour to find parking.
It was chaos.
The news guys were there.
Someone died there that morning. I feel sorry for the guy..But does it surprise me?
No, not really.
People always inderestimate the slammin powers at the Wedge.

Aunt Laura and Kaelin. I love this picture! Jack, the lounger

Nothin else to do but take some candids while waiting in the traffic
Jack, the stud. One day we hope to have a kid as cute at this guy.
Sand toys are fun, huh K?

PS- I made a fruit fly trap with the vinegar, cup, and paper, and sure enough...an hour later, there were 12 in there!! HAhaa!! I am so evil!! Those bugs are gone-ers!!!

The AZ Elders + The CA Elders

I will post about our fun times we had together in a few days, but until then... Feast your eyes upon the ugly facts about those nasty fruit flies...Ugh...I can't stand them! They serve no purpose to anything or anyone...

Darn Fruit Flies

They can live on the slime inside a sink drain.

They can flourish on a sour mop.

They'll eat damp flour or food fermenting quietly in a crack in the floor.

They've even proven capable of existing on a diet of alcohol fumes.

And in their eight-day life cycle, they breed prolifically. .

In one year, a fly can produce a dynasty that, packed in a ball, would fill the void between the Earth and the Sun.

How to destroy them:

Construct a trap by placing a paper funnel (rolled from a sheet of notebook paper) into a jar which is then baited with a few ounces of cider vinegar. Place the jar trap(s) wherever fruit flies are seen. This simple but effective trap will soon catch any remaining adult flies which can then be killed or released outdoors. (haha, released...yes, let's release them so they can come right back inside and lay millions of eggs on our fuzzy peaches)

Absurd

The only reasonable name I can give this post. The pictures are plenty and my fingers are spent.

Kaelin on a pig of some sort randomly in the middle of chaos among flying fish

Some crazy guy, probably from Venice Beach, trying his cheezy bird act on a new crowd...

What vacation is complete without a carousel ride?

Later on Day 2 of - Cousin Nate before the wrath of Kaelin

Still friends...

"Michelle, Do you prefer Diapers or Panties?"

If I would have known this was a septic tank air thingy, I would not have let her play on it...

Finally, Day 3 - Mt Vernon. Adam's old house. Complete with Rain, Banana slugs and lunch at the Ol' Chuck Wagon...

Dinner at Grandpa & Grandma Elder's house overlooking the Pugeot Sound in Bellevue. Pickles, Cheese chunks, mash potatoes, and memories of old. It was also Nate's first time seeing green, can you tell?

Mama Culler and Baby Mason

Mama and her Stud Muffin

Nate got stuck in the rose bush...So daddy was giving him some TLC

Can you believe this is still day 3??? Kaelin showing Nate her grappling skills...

Kaelin rockin out to Gramps' old beats

Ah, finally.... Day 4. Monday. Go ahead, take a water break or sniff some coffee beans or something. I am determined to make your eyes bleed before you leave my post...
Our real vacation begins. We packed up the essentials... floaties, bikinis, swim diapers, and mexican coke, oh and some sunscreen, just for you mom.
Lake Chelan, Here We COME!!!!!
Darn kids can't last more than a few hours in the car, so we decided to stop in a quaint little Danish town called Leavenworth. We ate a healthy lunch consisting of Cold Stone and Mickey D's

I took off Kaelin's leash and let her roam like a wild woman. Here she is in some Classy Kaelin Shots...

Wow, need I say more?!?! This kid is nuts!

Oh, and a car show happened to be there...the guy who owned this car wanted to know why I was so close to his fenders....He thought I was on crack for wanting a picture of only this part of his exquisite car.
Yay!!!! Day 5. Tuesday. Perfect. Windless. Sunny. No sunburns. No sleep deprived kids. No Husband. (I think I saw him for dinner that day...maybe..He escaped Darnell's and was on the boat ALL DAY!)
Analee. Nate. Pops.

Cousin Sierra. She's Kaelin's age.

K and I on the tube.

The "D" - Darnell's Resort Motel. Boat's eye view.

Me capturing pics through bushes...

Ooops..I can't remember which day is which...But I think we are at least halfway through the post. I could be wrong. Don't hate.
Darn Teeny Boppers...

Wow, someone else took a picture. That's me in there....

Uncle Dave and Kaelin.

Ummm...I think this was towards the end of the trip. Kaelin and Nate hadn't taken naps in what seemed like decades. I went to the bathroom to supply my eyes with moisture and Kaelin fell asleep on the floor. Nice...

Oh, here's some Baby Drama....Everything Nate had or was thinking of having, Kaelin stole. Nate, the "Gentle Giant" never put up a fight. Kaelin, Kaelin, Kaelin.....

I believe it was 11 at night here and it finally got dark. I swear, the sun never went down in Washington. I was so confused....

Pickle Ball Courts...all 4o something of the Elder family stayed up hours beyond their bedtimes to savor each second of our last day in Chelan. I did not want to leave. I remember just standing and staring for a good hour at the vastness of the empty lake that was soon going to be taken away from me.
I am getting weepy just thinking of the pure joy I experienced in Washington. I have to say, I loved every stinking moment of it, including the pure terror Kaelin expressed to each and every one of her unsuspecting victims. Her true colors shone brightly and I love her for being so darn passionate about everything in life.
I apologize for the bite marks, nail scratches, choke holds, kung fu grips, and glass shattering screams my child tortured you all with. I promise we are working on it.
Ok, this must have been on Friday night. Lake Chelan had come and gone. Adam is gonna kill me for putting this pic up. Let's see if he's savvy enough to take it down. Love ya babe!

A different perspective of Dave and Michele's pad.

I'm starting to understand light and photography...

Kid you not, it was at least 9:30 pm in these shots..
We partied like Rock Stars I tell ya, while Dave and Michele were out, us mice played. Papa Johns girl delivered us with mouth watering goodness....

In Seattle. At Ivar's. It's amazing! Go there! Eat for yourself.

A couple hours before our flight back to reality...
This pic says it all. We will miss you Covington. We will miss you Mt Vernon. And most of all, we willl miss you Lake Chelan. Until next time...

Bear hugs to Aunt Michele and Uncle Dave for putting up with our abnoxious butts. We are so lucky to have such awesome family in our lives. Thanks for treating us like Rock stars!
Soft hugs to Grandpa and Grandma Elder for making all the arrangements for the trip of the century. We must do this again!!! Pancakes saucers and all...We love and miss you already :)
peace out homies!
ps-Did your eyes fall out of their sockets yet?
